A New Jersey motorist has been criminally charged with assault in connection with an accident that took place in early July. Reckless driving and careless driving, along with failure to maintain his lane, were additional charges leveled in association with the incident, according to authorities on Aug. 2. The Somerset resident struck an eastbound car when he crossed a double-yellow line on Ridge Road in South Brunswick. Head-on car accidents can be serious, and in this case, the motorist's passenger was in the hospital for five days. The driver of the other vehicle also suffered injuries.

A Cape May man was taken to the hospital following a mid afternoon accident that occurred when a Suzuki motorcycle slammed head-on into a 2001 Honda. The auto accident, which occurred on Grove Street in Newark, is still under investigation by local police. The man riding the motorcycle died at the scene.

A 37-year-old man from Fairless Hills died early on August 2 after he was involved in a car accident on northbound Route 1 close to the Blackhorse Lane intersection in South Brunswick, New Jersey. The 37-year-old man had reportedly been driving a 2011 Nissan Versa when a 56-year-old man who was driving a tractor-trailer failed to stop and crashed into the rear of him.
New Jersey police report that a driver has been seriously injured after his Camaro was struck near Route 46. The vehicle crashed into a telephone poll after the impact forced it off the road, and its passenger was transported to the Morristown Medical Center. The cause of the car accident has not been released.
Police officers report that a car made an illegal turn in Camden, New Jersey, crashing into a Route 400 transit bus. According to a statement made by a New Jersey State Police official, a man who was traveling the road on foot one night in March was hit by a passing motorist.
