Pleasantville, N.Y. (May 14, 2019) - A wrong-way driver has caused a head on accident, injuring both himself and the driver of the other car involved, according to police. The New York vehicle accident occurred Tuesday, around 1:10 a.m. on Saw Mill River Parkway near the Grant Street intersection.
Every day in New Jersey, as well as other states, people drive drunk. They know it is against the law, but they decide to do so, anyway. Some people get away with this, but others are caught by police. Furthermore, there are times when a drunk driver causes an accident. In the most serious situations, the accident leads to injury or death.
All 50 states, including New Jersey, have received a recommendation from the National Transportation Safety Board to lower the legal blood alcohol limit for drunk driving from .08 to .05. This measure is intended to reduce fatal car accidents from drunk driving although NTSB has no power to enforce the recommendation. It will be up to the states to make their own decisions regarding blood alcohol limits.
