Corporate Action Network attacks over medical malpractice

If you've suffered an injury from the Johnson & Johnson transvaginal mesh, then you may have heard about this lawsuit being attacked by activist groups through social media sources. Women from around the United States, New Jersey included, have had surgery to have these mesh implants implanted, but the side effects have turned out to be severe and have caused plenty of complications. According to an article from the journal Obstetrics & Gynecology, the researchers had found that over 15 percent of the patients who had the mesh experienced a serious complication called erosion.

Erosion is a potentially serious problem, since it means that the skin splits and allows the mesh to protrude. When this happens, the result can be infections and pain, which can result in the need for multiple surgeries to repair the damage. While the mesh allegedly would help with problems like pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence in women, the greater issues, erosion and organ perforations, are far more serious and harmful to the body. This is just part of the reason that the company is now facing the medical malpractice lawsuits from women around the U.S.

According to the Corporate Action Network over 20,000 women have been injured by the mesh implants. To help bring this fact to light, the company has started a social media campaign that is aimed at Johnson & Johnson. The campaign asks former employees to report on the company and become whistleblowers, asks people not to buy stock in Johnson & Johnson and asks that those who are invested in the company to divest.

According to the April 14 news, the CAN has also filed a complaint with the Department of Justice. It believes that Johnson & Johnson has destroyed documents that are critical to lawsuits brought against the company by the thousands of women who have been hurt by the pelvic mesh implants. The CAN network reported that it believes that the company should pay for the care some women need due to the complications that arose from the product.

Medical malpractice is serious and can result in life-altering injuries or even death. Medical professionals who have not met the standard of care should be held responsible for their actions. Personal injury attorneys provide help to those who have suffered due to surgical errors, medical errors or misdiagnosis, among other forms of medical malpractice.
