Careless driving leads to car accidents in New Jersey

In New Jersey, traffic can be busy, and that can lead to distractions and accidents. In this case, two people were left injured following a three-vehicle accident in Andover Township. According to the reports from March 31, an elderly woman caused the car accident, and that left her with a careless driving summons.

The accident was serious; at least two other cars were involved. The incident took place at around 1:11 p.m., at the intersection of Newton-Sparta Road and Club Road. The images of the scene show that it was sunny but that the sun was high in the sky, so daylight or nightfall were not a factor.

Police have reported that a 43-year-old man was heading east on Newton-Sparta Road in a 2007 Toyota Highlander when he was struck from behind by the 84-year-old woman. He had been stopped at the time of the accident, and he was waiting to turn onto Club Road.

The sudden impact of the 84-year-old woman's vehicle resulted in the 43-year-old driver's vehicle being pushed into traffic in the opposite lane. That caused him to strike a 2012 Honda Odyssey driven by a 41-year-old woman. That woman suffered a head injury in the accident, and she was taken to Newton Medical Center for her injuries.

The Andover Township Fire Department and Lakeland Emergency Squad responded to the scene. The other two drivers involved also had to receive medical attention, according to the news. They were taken to Newton Medical Center for treatment, while Sparta and Newton police forces closed the road for around 45 minutes to investigate and prevent further accidents.

Accidents like this can happen suddenly, and if you're involved, you may want to seek compensation. You may have a right to compensation that will cover your medical bills, pain and suffering, emotional distress and other damages, since someone else's negligence is at fault.
