19-year-old charged for wrongful deaths due to crash

Car accidents happen frequently, even in New Jersey. When they are serious enough to kill, the loss can be devastating for the victim's family and friends. The news from Dec. 12 reports that a 19-year-old man who was driving a vehicle involved in a fatal accident, has been arrested. The 19-year-old is facing some serious charges.

The report claims that the three victims of this accident were riding with the 19-year-old male when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the back of a tractor-trailer. The accident happened along Interstate 95, according to police, and the 19-year-old allegedly fled the scene. He was arrested at his home after the accident.

Three people died due to this accident, including a 20-year-old woman, an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old male who survived the accident but later passed away at the hospital due to head injuries. Police aren't sure why the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the accident, but he did so without summoning help for his friends. The charges against him currently include one count of assault by auto, which could be upgraded due to the 19-year-old male passenger dying, and two counts of death by auto. He is currently held on a $1 million bond.

If you've lost a loved one due to a driver's negligence, you might want to think about your legal options. You might be able to get compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral costs, and other needs through a civil action against the negligent driver.
