Three die in New Jersey car accident

On Oct. 6, a 28-year-old woman and her two young daughters died following a vehicle accident in Trenton. The car that they were riding in at the time was driven by the woman's mother, a 43-year-old from Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Authorities say that she lost control of her vehicle as she drove north on Route 29; her car drifted over to the opposite side of the road where it was struck by an oncoming pickup truck.

The 47-year-old Hamilton Township woman who was driving the pickup truck was taken to Capital Health at Fuld along with the Bensalem motorist following the fatal accident. Reports did not say what their conditions were nor when they were released from the hospital, but neither driver was immediately charged with a criminal offense.

This collision took place at about 2:30 p.m. between Calhoun Street and Lehigh Avenue, and police did not say whether local road conditions played a role; the accident was still being investigated by authorities at the time of reporting. Although they had yet to determine a specific cause, officials said that excessive speed may have been a contributing factor.

Vehicle accidents that result in a death can leave the victim's family at a loss as they try to work through the financial aspects of the death and grieve at the same time. A personal injury may be able to use the accident report and witness testimony to determine what caused the accident. By pursuing a wrongful death suit against the at-fault party, the attorney could allow the family of the deceased to take the time that they need to recover emotionally.
