Suspect charged in fatal car accident

A 67-year-old woman was killed in a fatal hit-and-run car accident on Black Horse Pike. At the time of the accident, the woman was attempting to cross the road to a bus stop from the Audubon Shopping Center during the early evening when she was struck by a blue Chevrolet pickup truck. The victim was transported to a local medical center for treatment for injuries she sustained, but she died soon after her arrival at the facility.

Someone who saw news coverage about the alleged wrongful death provided authorities with a tip that enabled them to locate the truck and the driver. They arrested a 50-year-old man from Mount Ephraim in connection to the fatal accident, and he faces multiple charges including fleeing the scene of a fatal auto accident, causing death with a suspended driver's license and other charges.

This car accident may have been caused by the negligent or intentional actions of the driver, and his actions may have resulted in pain, suffering and financial challenges for the victim's family. A fatal car accident such as this one may result in expenses such as lost wages, medical expenses and funeral expenses. The victim's family may pursue financial restitution by filing a personal injury lawsuit against this man regardless of the outcome of the criminal charges against him.

Those who have been affected by a car accident such as this one in Essex County or Newark, New Jersey, may consider filing a civil lawsuit to obtain financial compensation for their accident-related expenses. Victims or family members of victims may contact a Newark personal injury lawyer to explore their legal rights.
