Fatal workplace accident statistics show increase in New Jersey

Workplace accidents are a problem in New Jersey and across the nation. There are certain jobs that are more dangerous than others, but any job can have an incident that leads to injuries and a fatality. The statistics regarding these accidents are kept by government agencies to determine how and why they happen as well as to provide a guideline for their prevention.

Being a distracted driver goes beyond not watching the road

Distracted driving happens in a variety of ways, and there are many issues that arise from it. The number of people who are injured and killed in an auto accident is increasing nationwide because of it, and those in New Jersey and throughout the U.S. must be cognizant of the danger that accompanies the behavior. When there is a car accident and it is believed to have been due to a distracted driver, evidence accrued proving that as an issue can be utilized in a legal filing for compensation.

More car accidents across the U.S. is a growing problem

The roads in New Jersey and across the U.S. have become increasingly dangerous. Studies are examining the jump in crashes in recent years, and researchers are trying to determine how and why this is happening. Across the nation in the past year, the number of fatalities on the road rose to their highest number in almost 10 years. According to the National Safety Council, in 2016 alone, there was a 6 percent rise with approximately 40,200 fatalities. This is an increase of nearly 3,000 from 2015. There have not been more than 40,000 fatalities in one year since 2007.

What is the actual rate of birth trauma?

The rate of birth injuries ranged from 0.2 to 37 per 1,000 births. Unfortunately, such a broad range of figures makes it difficult for policy experts to craft policies designed to address these concerns. To address this knowledge shortfall, a team of researchers from the University of Pittsburgh examined a series of studies and hospitals to perform a cross-section study. This post will go over the results of the study.

Be on the lookout for dangerous driving

If you are a licensed driver, then you know that safety behind the wheel is about more than just your habits and your ability to follow the traffic signs adequately. It is also about your ability to see hazards coming and to navigate around them safely. That can mean seeing when there is likely going to be a hazard in the roadway, such as an animal or a moving object, but it can also mean developing a keen sense for when the patterns of a situation point to the possibility of trouble. This includes being able to tell when other drivers might be engaged in dangerous behavior, such as drinking and driving.

Fatal pedestrian accident kills woman and injures her brother

Pedestrians in New Jersey must be vigilant when it comes to motor vehicles. This is true whether they are crossing the street or walking on the sidewalk. Given their vulnerability to serious injuries and death if they are hit by a car, pedestrian accidents can have lifelong consequences personally and financially. Those who have been injured in a pedestrian crash or lost a loved one in a fatal pedestrian accident need to be aware of the importance of filing a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
