Distracted driving causes daily car accidents

Most people are not lost on the fact that distracted driving will increase the chance of a motor vehicle accident. Even then, some people don't care to change their ways. Instead, they continue to do things that distract them while behind the wheel.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, each day in the United State nearly 10 people are killed due to distracted driving. This doesn't even take into consideration the approximately 1,150 people who are injured daily in such accidents.

What is distracted driving? As the name implies, this is any type of activity that takes your attention away from the road and task at hand.

For a better idea of how big this problem has become, here is an eye opening statistic shared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

"In 2012, 3,328 people were killed in crashes involving a distracted driver, compared to 3,360 in 2011. An additional, 421,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted."

It doesn't matter what state you live in or how much time you spend on the road, there is a good chance somebody around you is operating a motor vehicle while distracted by something else.

You have the ability as a driver to change your ways, but you cannot do anything about those who are on the road at the same time. You simply have to hope they are paying attention.

If a distracted driver causes an accident, the victim or their family may eventually consult with an attorney to discuss their legal rights and other related details.
