1 dead, 2 injured in fatal crash in New Jersey

Every time you get in a car, you know that your life is at risk. It may not be any fault of your own when you get hit by another vehicle. Many people drive dangerously, speeding, texting, or talking on their phones when they should be paying attention to the roads. In the news, one crash recently reported took place in New Jersey and resulted in the death of a woman who was driving with her daughter.

The woman from Hillsborough died following an impact with another car. The Jan. 5 report states that the 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene at around 10:30 a.m. when the authorities were called to a head-on crash. That crash was caused by no fault of her own, according to the investigation's findings.

An investigation into the crash showed that the accident occurred when a Ford Focus being driven by a 21-year-old crossed into the northbound lane of Millstone River Road. At that point, the vehicle hit a BMW that was being driven by a 50-year-old woman. She had a passenger in her vehicle, her 20-year-old daughter, who had to be taken to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. The 21-year-old man was also taken to the hospital. Both were admitted with non-life threatening injuries.

Following the crash, the Hillsborough Township Police Department, Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, and New Jersey Regional Medical Examiner's Office were at the scene to continue the investigation. No charges have been placed yet, and the authorities have placed a call for witnesses of the accident to come forward.
