Teen fighting for life after multi-vehicle crash in New Jersey

A teenage has been hurt as a result of a truck that drifted out of its lane; now, her future is unclear. If you've ever been badly hurt in a car accident, you probably know what this teen and her family are going through right now.

The teenager in New Jersey was badly injured in a recent multi-car accident in southern New Jersey. The Aug. 31 report states that the teen has been on and remains on life support at this time. The 14-year-old girl was traveling in a vehicle with four of her teammates when the crash took place.

The girls had been on their way to a charity tournament when an eastbound truck on Route 40 crossed the centerline. The 39-year-old driver's truck struck a box truck that was heading west, and then it hit a car being driven by an 18-year-old woman from Linwood.

The pickup truck driven by the 39-year-old man went off the road, struck a number of trees and caught on fire. The 18-year-old's vehicle spun and came to a stop in a nearby home's yard; the four other teammates in the vehicle had to be treated for injuries. Reports have said that the drivers escaped without serious injuries.

There have been no charges filed by police. They are investigating the crash to see if they can determine an exact cause. Once the investigation is complete, they may file charges against the at-fault party for the injuries and damage caused.

Once police investigate a crash like this one, it's easier to know who's to blame and what your legal options are. You may be able to seek compensation through a civil lawsuit or opt to pursue other avenues to help keep dangerous drivers off the road.
