New Jersey multi-vehicle accident leads to injuries

Car accidents are common throughout the state of New Jersey, with most of these nothing more than minor incidents in which all parties involved are able to walk away and deal with the damage on their own. There are other situations, however, that are much more serious. According to the New Jersey Department of Transportation and New Jersey State Police, a multi-vehicle accident on Route 287 resulted in several people taken from the scene for the treatment of injuries.

According to reports, the collision may have started as a police chase. No matter why the accident occurred, nothing changes the fact that many people were injured. Witnesses said that a helicopter transported at least one person from the accident scene. They also noted that at least one police cruiser was involved.

It is believed that a black SUV lost control and collided with a minivan, which then spun around and crashed into a police vehicle. Three people in the SUV, who may have been part of a police chase, were taken from the scene in handcuffs. The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment. A police officer was also taken from the scene by an ambulance, and there is no additional information on the condition of others involved in the accident.

Car accidents can happen for any reason, including the negligence of one driver. Any mistake on the road, such as fleeing police, can lead to an accident that causes injury or death. Anybody injured by a negligent driver may want to consider the idea of filing a lawsuit against the at-fault party to collect compensation.
