New Jersey crash causes 1 death, multiple injuries

If you drive often in New Jersey, you know that roads can be congested. Car accidents involving you or a loved one could end in pain and injuries, but you may be able to seek compensation to help you through your difficult time. This man's family could choose to do the same.

A man who was recently struck and killed on the Garden State Parkway has finally been identified, according to an article from July 22. The 48-year-old man was said to be from Passaic and was a pedestrian at the time of the accident on the highway.

The crash took place at around 9:15 a.m., when a van was stopped in the left southbound lane of the highway. The people inside were helping a disabled van that was on the right shoulder of the road's express lanes, police report. Despite being obviously in the roadway, a van traveling in the left local lane swerved and struck the door of one of the vans. Then, it went into the median where pedestrians were standing, hitting them.

One of the men killed was a driver of one of the two vans on the side of the road. He was reportedly working or the Union County Educational Services as a bus driver for children with special needs. The van he used had been broken down on the side of the road, and someone had stopped to help him. Three additional people -- a 56-year-old man, 64-year-old man and 61-year-old man -- were also injured in the accident. They are expected to survive their injuries.

After the accident, the police closed two of the lanes around the accident. The lanes were closed for around six hours while the police investigated the incident. Right now, they have not said if they will be pursuing charges against the van driver who caused the accident.
