Fatal accident in New Jersey kills 1

While most car accidents are of the non-fatal variety, this does not mean that some don't result in the death of at least one person involved. Knowing what legal options are available should you ever face the unthinkable -- the sudden loss of a loved one due to another's negligence -- may make the road to carrying on at least a tiny bit easier. Accidents happen but if a party is deemed to be at fault, you should not be responsible for financial consequences attached to this horrible tragedy.

An automobile accident can happen at any time in any state throughout the country. Furthermore, all types of vehicles are involved in accidents, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and buses.

Police are in the process of investigating an accident that occurred in Old Bridge, New Jersey, at Route 9 and Old Mill Road. The accident occurred during the early afternoon hours of Monday, March 31, 2014.

According to authorities, a tractor trailer and a Hyundai were both traveling south on Route 9. It was at this time that the tractor trailer hit the Hyundai from behind, pushing it down the road approximately a quarter of a mile. As a result of the collision, the car caught on fire. Subsequently, the woman who was driving the vehicle was killed.

Despite the fact that police continue to investigate the accident, it is clear that the woman's car caught on fire as a result of being rear ended by the tractor trailer. While fatal accidents happen from time to time, for a variety of reasons, this one could have been avoided had the driver of the tractor trailer not hit the rear of the woman's car.

This story is an example of what happens when a truck and a car are involved in an accident. Due to the size difference, it is often the smaller vehicle that sustains the most damage. In this case, it also led to the death of one woman.
