Wall police made a drunk driving arrest after a collision on Route 138, while three other drunk drivers were arrested during traffic stops the same day. Many DWI drivers are arrested during routine traffic stops, but some are identified only after they are involved in car accidents, some of which injure or kill innocent victims.
The collision occurred at Route 138 and Allenwood Road when a 25-year-old driver rear-ended another vehicle stopped at a traffic light. Officers took the young man into custody and charged him with driving while intoxicated after examining the scene of the collision. Police also made three other DWI arrests the same day: A 46-year-old Glen Rock woman during a routine traffic stop; a 28-year-old woman from Bloomfield following a traffic stop; and a 29-year-old Aberdeen man after a traffic stop.
Impaired driving continues to be a problem that threatens the safety of others on the road. When individuals choose to drink alcohol or use drugs and drive, deadly results can occur. In many cases, the driver who is drinking is not the victim but some innocent person in the driver's car or in another vehicle.
Those who have been victims of drunk driving accidents may find that a personal injury attorney can help them recover damages for their injuries. A personal injury attorney may examine the case and put forth possible courses of action to recover medical bills, extended therapy, living expenses during recovery, lost wages, and sums to compensate the victim and his or her family for pain and suffering.
